Resources

Prelude: Shakespeare’s Hamlet came to realize that, “There are more things in heaven and earth, than are dreamt of in our philosophies.” The premise of this website is that the same can be said of the resources for Catholic mental health: There are more types of therapy, more support, more inspiring art and people, and more peace, consolation, and  inspiration, than we could ever dream of.

For this reason, we have put together a ‘tasting menu’ of 12 Catholic Mental Health resources, a sampler so you can taste small portions before you load your plate and commit to one resource or another.

Not all of these ‘dishes’ will be for everyone, but even finding one or two that you like could be enough to get you started or back on track. So here is an initial list of “Catholic Mental Health Resources 12 Greatest Hits.”

Some include some just Catholicism, some just mental health, and some a combination of both:

  1. Counseling
  2. Recovery Groups
  3. Self-Help
  4. Volunteer Opportunities
  5. The Arts (Music, Books, Film)
  6. News Organizations
  7. Spiritual Direction & Retreats
  8. Websites
  9. Social Groups/Community
  10. Inspiring People
  11. Blogs
  12. The Catholic Faith/Your Local Parish
